During the extreme isolation of pandemic lockdown and social distancing protocols, many of us have experienced sadness and depression. Many with preexisting mental illness have often experienced a worsening of their conditions because they have not been able to access the services they need. In my community, some organizations started to host online zoom meetings, inviting experts in the mental health field to educate attendees on emotional support. Attending several of these meetings inspired this painting, which illustrates that we as a society value emotional well-being and care about those who need human connection.
